Alloy Steel 4140 | UNS# G41400 contains chromium, molybdenum, and manganese and is an excellent material choice for many various applications due to its toughness, high fatigue strength, and abrasion and impact resistance. Few grades match the versatility of 4140. AISI 4140 demonstrates good atmospheric corrosion resistance and shows good combinations of toughness, strength, fatigue and wear resistances. Because of these desirable characteristics, AISI 4140 is often used as forgings in the aerospace, oil & gas , agricultural, and defense industries.
