AISI 300M (4340 MOD) alloy steel is a low alloy and vacuum melted alloy steel. A modified version of AISI 4340 steel, 300M has high content of molybdenum and silicon in comparison to AISI 4340 steel. This alloy steel demonstrates high strength, good toughness, fatigue strength and ductility; which allows for the the material to be used in aircraft landing gear, airframe parts, flap track, components for missiles, and some motorsport applications.
