Carbon Steel AISI 1018 is the most commonly available cold-rolled steels. 1018 demonstrates good strength, some ductility, and comparative ease of welding and machining. This material is also chemically similar to A36 Hot Rolled steel, but cold rolling creates a better surface finish and ultimately better properties. Typically found in applications that include pins, rods, shafts, spindles, and sprockets.
