Stainless Steel Alloy 410 is a martensitic stainless steel that provides good corrosion resistance in addition to high strength and hardness. It is magnetic in the annealed and hardened conditions. Applications requiring moderate corrosion resistance and high mechanical properties typically use type 410. The corrosion resistance of grade 410 steels can be further enhanced by using processes such as hardening, tempering and polishing. Quenching and tempering can also harden type 410 steels and are generally used for applications involving mild corrosion, heat resistance and high strength.
