Stainless Steel Alloy AISI 418, also known as Greek Ascoloy, is part of the martensitic family of stainless steels specifically formulated for forming into wrought products. Properties are appropriate for the heat treated (HT) condition, it has a fairly high base cost among wrought martensitic stainless steels, demonstrates fairly high tensile strength and a moderately high embodied energy. Alloy 418 also shows good corrosion resistance, high hardness, toughness and strength.
