Titanium 6-2-4-2 (6Al-2Sn-4Zr-2Mo) is an alpha-beta titanium alloy that is capable of being heat treated to higher strengths in larger section sizes than 6Al-4V Grade 5. Typically found in forged components, 6Al-2Sn-4Zr-2Mo forged material demonstrates greater strength, ductility and a good combination of low-cycle fatigue and fatigue-crack growth resistance. 6Al-2Sn-4Zr-2Mo is normally used in the intermediate compressor stages of turbine engines for disks, blades, seals and other airframe parts.
